Jarrett Allen

A full year of Harden as his pick-and-roll partner raises his ceiling.

Key numbers
  • Allen averaged 15.4 pts, 8.5 reb in 2025-26
  • Allen+Harden lineups: 122.7 pts/100, 94th percentile
  • Allen scored 7 more PPG after the Harden trade
  • Season-best 40-point, 17-rebound game last year
  • Harden: 42.4 FPTS/G in 2025-26, our #19 overall

Jarrett Allen has spent six seasons in Cleveland quietly putting up 14.8 points, 9.9 rebounds and just over a block a night. Last year he landed at 15.4 points and 8.5 rebounds with slightly dipped efficiency, and yet the Cavs kept winning minutes with him on the floor. The number that actually matters for his 2026-27 outlook, though, isn't on his own stat line — it's what happened when Cleveland traded for James Harden.

After the deal, lineups featuring both Allen and Harden posted 122.7 points per 100 possessions, a 94th-percentile mark. For context, the most-used Allen lineup before Harden arrived scraped by in the 55th percentile. Allen's scoring jumped by roughly seven points per game once Harden took over the controls. That's not a fluke — it's exactly what Harden has historically done for rolling bigs.

The Harden Blueprint

We've seen this movie before with Clint Capela and Ivica Zubac. Harden is one of the great pick-and-roll passers ever, and he turns traditional centers into layup machines. Capela and Zubac are shells of their former fantasy selves now — Capela sits at our rank #319 after a 13.8 FPTS/G 2025-26, Zubac at #74 — but both built their peak value feasting on Harden's drop-offs. Allen is next in line, and he gets a full season of it this time rather than a half.

The defensive end is where Cleveland needs Allen to hold the rope. The Cavs' defense sat in the 58th percentile with him on the floor last year, decent but not elite, and with smaller guards and thinner wing depth, he and Evan Mobley have to anchor everything. Mobley is still the alpha big here — our #35 overall player after a 39.7 FPTS/G 2025-26 — but Allen's floor as a rim-protecting, rebounding, high-efficiency finisher gives this frontcourt a real backbone.

The Fantasy Fallout

Allen's reputation as Cleveland's punching bag has never matched his production. He had a 40-point, 17-rebound night last season, and his impact spills well past the box score. For a guy who gets drafted at a discount because people underrate him, that's the edge you want.

Treat Allen as a buy-low target in the mid-rounds. Harden (our #19 overall, 42.4 FPTS/G in 2025-26) running the offense for a full year should push Allen's points and efficiency to career-high territory, and he's a strong weekly start in any build thanks to the rebounding and blocks. Grab him before the Harden synergy shows up in the box scores and the price climbs.
