Tyrese Maxey went into a preseason interview with a clear message about Philadelphia's suddenly stacked roster: check your ego at the door. With LeBron James and Jaylen Brown now sharing a locker room with Maxey and Joel Embiid, the 76ers are carrying two regular-season MVPs, multiple gold medalists and a stack of All-NBA selections — and Maxey says winning demands everyone sacrifice touches collectively.
The fantasy problem is right there in that sentence. Four of those names are legitimate roster anchors on our pages. Brown put up 45.2 fantasy points per game in 2025-26 (actual), good for our #10 overall spot. Embiid averaged 44.5 in just 38 games. LeBron chipped in 41.4 across 60 games. You cannot run four 40-plus scorers through one offense and keep all four whole.
Maxey's own priorities are telling. Asked what he wanted to prove, he led with leadership and playmaking — not scoring. He talked about getting into the paint and creating shots for everyone rather than hunting his own. That's the right attitude for a title run, and it's exactly what should worry anyone who drafted him expecting a 25-plus usage bump.
The Pecking Order Nobody Wants to Own
There's no settled crunch-time hierarchy yet, per Maxey, who pushed back on the idea that rookie VJ Edgecombe is merely a fifth option — he noted Edgecombe hit multiple clutch shots when Maxey and Embiid drew doubles last season. That's great for chemistry. For fantasy, a genuine five-man rotation of scorers means volatile game-to-game lines and nobody with a locked ceiling.
The Fantasy Fallout
Embiid is the one I'd trust most if healthy — he's our #2 center and posted a +5.1 fantasy-point uptick over his last five games in 2025-26. But 38 games last year is the number you can't ignore. LeBron's playmaking (7.2 assists in 2025-26) actually travels well into a shared offense; he's used to deferring, and his last-five form ran +7.9 above his average.
Actionable read: sell high on Brown now while his #10 overall tag still commands full value — a move into this crowd almost certainly trims his 45.2 FPTS/G. Hold Embiid but draft insurance for his availability. Maxey's a wait-and-see; the vibes are elite, the touches are not.
