Scottie Barnes Is the Raptors' Fantasy Engine — and a Top-20 Bet

Scottie Barnes closed the 2025-26 season as the #20 player in our rankings (#7 at forward), posting 18.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists across a full 80-game slate for 42.1 fantasy points per game. That's the kind of do-everything line that anchors a fantasy roster, and it's why Toronto's title math runs through him. With Kawhi Leonard's minutes likely to be managed — best case somewhere near 65 games, worst case closer to 50 — Barnes has to be the constant.

The comparison floating around Toronto is a flattering one: a Pascal Siakam arc. When Siakam won a ring with the Raptors he was putting up 17-7-3 on hyper-efficient shooting. Barnes just went 18-8-6 with career-best 51% from the field. Siakam, now in Indiana, finished last season at 24 points and 39.9 fantasy points per game (rank #33). Barnes already outproduces that in fantasy terms — and he does it with far better defense.

Where the Scoring Comes From

Barnes has quietly reshaped his shot diet. Two-point makes accounted for roughly 58% of his points two years ago; that jumped to 67%, then to 80% last season. He's leaning into his size and physicality inside, and he's added a midrange layer that grew from 7% to 12% of his scoring. The one soft spot: the three. His long-range share of points has slipped to 14%, and he hit just 30.4% from deep — a career best, but still a number defenses can sag off.

The passing is the fantasy multiplier. That 2.26 assist-to-turnover ratio on nearly six dimes a night is elite for a non-point guard, and it fits Toronto's ball-movement system perfectly. When defenses collapse on him, he finds the open man — Ja'Kobe Walter (15.5 fantasy pts/game in 2025-26, and trending up 5.6 in his last five) is one of the beneficiaries of that gravity.

The Defensive Case

Don't sleep on the other end. Barnes ranked 15th in defensive win shares — one of only five players in that group to log more than 60 games — finished ninth in total steals and sixth in total blocks, and led a top-five Raptors defense in defensive rebounds, steals and blocks per game. For category leagues, that stocks production is gold. He got snubbed to the Second Team last year; another season like this and the First-Team nod should follow.
