Knicks Owner Dolan Hosts $10K-a-Head GOP Fundraiser Before Oct. 15 Game
James Dolan is throwing a Republican fundraiser at MSG ahead of the Knicks' Oct. 15 preseason tilt with Toronto — tickets start at $10,000.

Off-court noise, zero fantasy impact — track rotation minutes Oct. 15 instead.
- Fundraiser set for Oct. 15, before Knicks-Raptors preseason
- Entry tickets start at $10,000
- Dolan family gave $1.4M to Blakeman committees
- Blakeman trails Hochul by 12 points (Oct. 8 poll)
- Knicks won first title in 53 years in 2026
Madison Square Garden is about to double as a campaign stop. Knicks owner James Dolan is hosting a Republican fundraiser at the arena on Oct. 15, right before New York tips off a preseason game against the Toronto Raptors. The price of admission? Tickets reportedly start at $10,000 a head.
The event backs Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman, who's running for governor against incumbent Democrat Kathy Hochul. Dolan has been one of New York's heaviest Republican donors this midterm cycle — he, his company and his family have poured $1.4 million into committees for Blakeman, plus more into supporting super PACs. The catch: Blakeman is a steep longshot, trailing Hochul by 12 points in an Emerson College poll released Oct. 8 in a state that leans heavily blue.
This isn't new ground for Dolan or the building. Blakeman sat in Dolan's suite when President Trump showed up for Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs — the lone game the Knicks dropped on their way to the franchise's first championship in 53 years. The Garden also hosted a major Trump rally during the closing stretch of the 2024 campaign.
Blakeman, for his part, praised Dolan's business and championship pedigree and said he's proud to have the owner's backing as they take aim at Hochul. Dolan said nothing publicly; MSG has been asked for comment.
The Fantasy Fallout
Here's the part that matters for your roster: basically nothing. This is an off-court political story, not a rotation or injury update, and it changes zero about how the Knicks deploy their lineup against Toronto. Preseason is preseason — the only thing worth your attention on Oct. 15 is minutes distribution and who's getting run with the starters.
If you're drafting around the Knicks this fall, ignore the headlines about suites and super PACs and watch the actual box scores. The team that just ended a half-century title drought is the fantasy-relevant story. Treat the fundraiser as trivia, keep your eyes on the floor, and let the preseason reps — not the politics — guide your waiver moves.
